Paul started in photography in 1985 at Gordon Hammond's studios learning the trade of advertising studio and location photography. During his six years at the studios Paul worked on many major advertising campaigns photographing things from microchips to jumbo jets.

In 1991 Paul joined the Southern Daily Echo were he would get the chance to follow his passion for press photography. During his time at the Echo Paul won press photographer of the year, sports photographer of the year and regional photographer of the year. Paul was given the chance to travel while working at the Echo and his highlights were covering the conflict in Bosnia and later visiting Kosovo with the Royal Hussars. Paul's other passion at this time became sports Photography covering such events as the FA cup, international football , cricket , formula 1,wimbledon, rugby and athletics. In 2001 he joined Solent News agency were he worked for the national newspapers and magazines covering news, sport and features.

In 2004 Paul set up on his own to enable him to work on some new projects and ideas. Paul is based in Southampton.
